[Lilium -Teaser-]

The Lilium entries. whew

By far the two submissions that stand out the most to me.

The surreal world she lives in. The style. The confusing break from reality these flashes give us.

People will prejudice against Lilium because they are wastes of life. They know nothing. Goth is a term I despise. Art sometimes needs to have a dark, serious, and sometimes sincerely scary theme to it to get it's message across.

Art with the colors of the normal world, and the speech of the normal world, as well as the situations of the normal world, are dull. Even flashes like Bitey of Brakenwood don't stand up to Lilium, just because of how the darker themes touch a deeper part of you than a more politically correct, family oriented theme.

The character Lilium is a mysterious and genuinely different person. Her mystery and seperation from our reality just ties me down to her, like I MUST know more. Like I need the whole story. But at the same time, she cannot be truly revealed. Her secrets must stay as such, for her mystery is her. The fact that there are dark, hidden parts of her character that we will never know, only be slightly hinted toward is capturing.

Please never give up or get bored.

It wasn't fluid at all. The animation was good, and the credits were done well, but the actual cartoon was just a bunch of scenes thrown together without transition. There were alot of unnecessary awkward pauses also. I don't know if you were actually going for that or what, but I didn't like it.

The graphics were very nice. The girl was beautiful and her outift and additude was very attractive. The backgrounds were a little bland, but the graphics were overall superb.

I loved the style of this. Most people that make silent movies ruin the quality of it by digging too deep into the old fashioned style. You created your won unique little style. I liked that.

I liked the song and it worked beautifully with the movie. The credits song was a nice touch too.

The blood was nicely done, and since it is one of my fetishes it really helped your movie in my oppinion.

Ya know how you could turn this 9 to a 10?

Redraw everything into perfect unsketchiness. I love the sketchy style, but now that you have it all drawn and syced and everything you can easily just draw over evrything in frame by frame.

But yes. About the film at hand. It was beautiful. I loved the art style. I loved that there was no noise other than the guitar. I wasn't to dazzled by the storyline, but there was nothing to complain about there either.

Nice.

The imagination and creativity that this shows is immense. I've never seen something so seemingly insightful on this site. My favorite part was the war/jesus/river of death part. That part really made me smile. I like how he was just being dragged around to these places by some unknown force and was just percieving, and wsn't interacting.

THE BEST sprite animation on the internet.

I've always looked down on sprite animations because they almost always suck and use no skill in flash to make, but you have just changed my views on that. This is the absolute best sprite animation I've ever seen, and also one of the best animations in general that I've seen. Good fucking work.
